Productivity

5% increase in production (in H/P mode) (compared to EX400-5)
8% less fuel consumption (compared to EX400-5)

Large Displacement Engine Creates Power for High Productivity

  • Engine rated power:
    226 kW (307 PS) -> 235 kW (320 PS)
    EX400-5

  • Engine displacement:
    13.741 L -> 15.681 L
    EX400-5

Excavating Power for Tough Job Sites

A powerful engine and efficient hydraulic system team up to boost maximum excavating power.
It has the power to take on tough job sites.

  • Backhoe bucket:
    251 kN (25,600 kgf) -> 259 kN (26,400 kgf)
    EX400-5

  • Rock bucket:
    261 kN (26,600 kgf) -> 269 kN (27,400 kgf)
    EX450H-5

Large Production From LOW Fuel Consumption Now Using the Popular H/P Mode From the ZAXIS Mid-Range Series

When power is needed, select the H/P mode. This automatically boosts engine output to 235 kW (320 PS) from 230 KW (313 PS) for increased productivity in heavy-duty operations. In light-duty operations, such as swinging or dumping, engine output is reduced automatically to 230 KW (313 PS) for fuel savings. Pressing the power boost switch further yields a boost of power.

Excellent Bucket Capacity Boosts Productivity

The Zaxis460 has a bucket capacity that contributes to its productivity. It has been designed to resist wear. The rock bucket has lateral-type wear plates that are easy to replace.

  • Backhoe bucket:
    1.82 m3 -> 1.89 m3
    EX400-5

  • Rock bucket:
    1.82 m3 -> 1.89 m3
    EX450H-5

Auto Acceleration System Helps Reduce Fuel Consumption

Engine speed is automatically controlled in response to lever operation. This helps reduce fuel consumption, especially during light-load work. 15% less fuel consumption than normal operation.

Work Modes for Increased Performance

The four work modes have been enhanced over prior models.

  1. General purpose mode

  2. Trench digging mode

  3. Attachment mode

  4. Precision mode
