The majority of Hitachi machines are computer controlled. The Machine Controller (MC) is the 'brain' of a machine, controlling the engine and the hydraulic operation. The data that is gathered during operation is stored into a memory module.

 

Dr. ZX has 3 main functions: register and analyse fault code information, store historical operational information and adjust machine operation because of a change of front attachment.

Operational data is downloaded from the machine by using a PDA, a small and easy to use portable computer. The PDA can be used directly for real time machine fault code analysis and trouble shooting, real time MC adjustment as well as for storage of downloaded machine data.

After downloading the operational data from the PDA to a PC, the dedicated, by Hitachi designed software will display the actual data in an easy to analyse graphical format. This graphical format allows users an in-depth analysis of operational data.

In return, operation and usage of each specific machine (and operator) can be optimised, in order to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
