Hitachi widens its appeal at Intermat

12 Mar, 2009

France will host one of the largest trade shows for the European construction industry this spring. More than 200,000 visitors from 127 countries are expected to attend the Intermat exhibition from 20 to 25 April at Paris Nord-Villepinte. Among the major exhibitors will be Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME).

Supported by the national sales office, Hitachi Construction Machinery Sales & Service France (HCSF), HCME will display a broad selection of machines including mini, medium and wheeled excavators, wheel loaders and special application machines. This wide variety demonstrates the manufacturer’s ability to meet the diverse requirements of its customers.

Two of the latest models on the Hitachi stand will be the new ZX14-3 mini excavator and ZW140 wheel loader. Both are examples of how Hitachi is broadening its current line-up. The ZX14-3 fills an important gap in the one to two-tonne class of minis. Lightweight and narrow, it can be transported easily on a trailer and is ideal for working in confined spaces. Its hydraulics are similar to those found on medium Zaxis excavators, making it fast and precise to operate.

The ZW140 is the smallest addition to the wheel loader range. It has a powerful yet economic engine and a spacious cab that is comparable to the larger models. Like the ZX14-3, it has easily accessible inspection points and durable components, which help to reduce downtime and keep maintenance costs to a minimum.

Hitachi will also highlight its special application machines at Intermat. The ZX250W-3 and ZX360W-3 are two new examples of its material handling equipment and have been developed specifically for this application. Both models offer greater lifting capacity, stability and durability, as well as enhanced operator comfort. The elevated cab provides all-round visibility, and is spacious and comfortable with a fully adjustable seat. Additional benefits include relatively low fuel consumption and easy access to major inspection points from ground level.

To illustrate the versatility of its factory modified machines, Hitachi will exhibit the ZX470LCH-3 demolition excavator with 27m high-reach boom. All demolition models, from the ZX250LC-3 to ZX870LCH-3, can be ordered with various high-reach, two-piece and standard booms, and can be customised at the manufacturer’s factory at Oosterhout in The Netherlands. This ‘multi-boom principle’ gives Hitachi customers greater flexibility with finance and the versatility to work on a greater number of demolition projects.

In addition, HCME will present its after-sales service at Intermat. This will incorporate five key areas: e-Service Owner’s Site, technical support, warranty, parts and remanufactured components. The aim is to increase awareness among existing and potential Hitachi customers of the comprehensive and high level of support provided by its official dealers.

HCME International Sales Manager Paul Burger says, “Intermat gives Hitachi an ideal opportunity to build upon its steadily increasing sales and market share in France. We look forward to presenting our after-sales service to visitors and introducing a selection of the latest Hitachi models for a wide variety of industry solutions.”

The Hitachi stand (K 030) is situated in Hall 6. For more information on the exhibition and for details on how to get there, visit www.intermat.fr
